Damage to a large number of injured people (1 dead, 19 injured (2 seriously injured, 17 seriously injured)) and surrounding buildings due to an explosion accident at a restaurant in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture on July 30 Has occurred.
At present, it is considered possible that liquefied petroleum gas (LP gas) leaked from the corroded location of the indoor gas pipes and ignited or exploded due to some kind of fire source.
In order to prevent the occurrence of similar accidents, please perform "proper maintenance of gas equipment" as follows.
Proper maintenance of gas equipment
- (1) Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of gas appliances.
- (2) If you feel any abnormality in the gas equipment or if there is damage or significant corrosion in the gas piping, stop using it immediately and contact the emergency contact point or the manufacturer to request repairs.
- (3) If you do not use gas for a long time due to suspension of business, or if you want to restart your business, please contact the liquefied petroleum gas seller.
