<< The 3rd Children's Firefighter Training Project >>

On Saturday, October 17, 2nd year of Reiwa, the 3rd Children's Firefighter Training Project was held at the Aira City Fire Department, and 30 elementary school students from 4th to 6th grade living in Aira participated.

The concept of this project is "career education," "life education," "disaster prevention education," and "leader education," and we learned from "Heisei," which was hit by various disasters such as the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the Kumamoto Earthquake. The purpose is to pass on the knowledge and experience skills gained from this disaster to the children who support the era of "Reiwa".

This time too, six medical institutions (Kagoshima Medical Center, Yonemori Hospital, Kagoshima Cooperative Hospital, Kirishima Memorial Hospital, Kagoshima Medical Center, Prefectural Oshima Hospital) and the Kagoshima Prefectural Nutritionist Association Disaster Medical Assistance Team participated. In addition, as a new initiative, we believe that Satsuma's unique intergenerational system and training of regional leaders who do not rely on the public will help in future disaster prevention and disaster activities, and the Aira City Junior Leader conducted in August. Students of the training project also participated as instructors of soup kitchen training and evacuation center management training.

Unfortunately it was raining on the day, but in the morning, we held an introductory firefighting and rescue course at the fire department, and conducted buggy test rides, water discharge training, and smoke experience. For lunch, the Kagoshima Prefectural Nutritionist Association Disaster Medical Assistance Team and Aira City Junior Leader will give lectures and actual meals for cooking training. , BLS, transceiver training, triage training, doctor car exhibition, shelter management training. It was a tight schedule, but I think it was a fulfilling day for the children.

This time, it was carried out in collaboration with the Aira City Board of Education, but I would like to continue to expand the framework of cooperation by adding the education field to the multidisciplinary cooperation project and further focus on disaster prevention education.
