The season for Kajiki's famous Hatsuichi market has arrived again this year!
Kajiki Hatsuichi, one of the three largest markets in Kagoshima Prefecture alongside Kawabe Futsukaichi and Takao Nonakaichi, has a long history and is said to have begun around 1838.
There is an old saying that if you are blown by the wind of Hatsuichi, you will not catch a cold for the entire year, and so many people visit the event every year.
This year's first market will be bustling with around 200 stalls, including the Spring Wood Market, as well as hardware, pottery, clothing, and other household goods, as well as Aira City's local specialties.
There will also be stage events centered around local people, as well as stalls run by local students, a kendo experience, and a rickshaw tour of the town of Kajiki!
Please come along to the Kajiki Hatsuichi Market, which will be held on March 1st and 2nd at Kamoda Street Shopping District and Hashiyama Street!
