With the cooperation of the Kagoshima Prefecture Aira and Isa Regional Promotion Bureau, the "pickup boxes" that were installed this time are filled with the desire of people who enjoy boating on the Matsubara coast and local residents to protect the beautiful Matsubara coast. I am.

On this day as well, we saw people enjoying boats and SUPs on the Matsubara coast, as well as people walking around the area. Approximately 30 people, mainly local residents who regularly enjoy boating and fishing along the beach, participated in the cleanup activity. Many parents and children participated, and the children seemed to be working hard to pick up trash, hoping to keep the ocean they love clean. It was also the kick-off day for "Autumn Marine Litter Zero Week," and a live broadcast with venues nationwide was also held.

Thank you for using marine leisure in every corner!

The cleanup activity, which was attended by many people who normally use Matsubara Beach for marine leisure, was carried out to reach every nook and corner that is usually hard to reach. There were plastic bottles littered under boats and tires, and pieces of broken fishing gear. Some of the garbage was brand new, and one person said, “It's unfortunate that so much garbage is being thrown away.I hope that by installing the pick-up boxes this time, visitors will be aware that they shouldn't throw garbage into the sea.'' .

Activity details: We will implement measures that will enable many people, mainly children and young people, to become aware of Kagoshima Prefecture's rich ocean and take various actions. Kagoshima Prefecture is surrounded by the East China Sea and the Pacific Ocean, with Kinko Bay containing Sakurajima inside. There are many remote islands, and as the gateway to the south since ancient times, there are many attractions such as unique sea culture, scenery, and food. On the other hand, we may not be able to pass on the charm of our local seas to younger generations, or we may be forced to rediscover the charms of our local seas now and in the future due to changes in the environment, and our relationship with the sea may become more difficult. We will be able to pass on the importance and charm of the world to the next generation. In implementing the project, we will involve many local media, municipalities, and organizations in an effort to expand the movement.
